Lowell Votes depends on donations for printing, materials, licenses and fees, and other expenses related to our outreach and education efforts to potential voters, with a special emphasis on those who face barriers to voting or have historically low turnouts. You can take a look at our 2015 budget and track our expenditures.
Coalition for a Better Acre, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to resident empowerment and sustainable community revitalization for current and future residents of Lowell and the Merrimack Valley, is Lowell Votes’ “fiscal sponsor.” They accept donations on our behalf and oversee disbursement of funds. This means that your donation is eligible for a federal charitable tax deduction and that you have assurance from a nonprofit that has been operating in Lowell for over 30 years that the funds will be used to reach potential voters with information and encouragement.
How your Donation could Help:
|$500:||Reach 1,000 homes with printed guides with information about candidates’ positions in multiple languages|
|$200:||Provide refreshments and special event permits for a civic engagement rally|
|$50:||Outfits three volunteer canvassers with t-shirts and clipboards that will visit homes to distribute voter information and get pledges|
|$20:||Reach 50 homes with pledge cards that will remind people to vote this November|
